The Problem With SOPA (and how to stop it)
The short description of what SOPA does:
- SOPA does NOT stop piracy
- SOPA creates an environment where sites which allow user-generated content, such as Facebook, Google+, Reddit, blogs, etc., may have to shut down because of onerous regulatory guidelines
- SOPA does not AFFECT offshore file sites, which is where most major piracy sites are hosted
- The tools to circumvent SOPA's requirement to "delist" piracy sites are already in use by these sites and those interested in their content.
