We Value Our Authors!

What do you do for your authors?

It's a question we (rightfully) receive quite often. With so many publishing options out there, you have a right to know what the publisher will do for you. There's more to publishing than just putting a book in an electronic, or print, format, and then posting it on a website. It's a collaborative effort, a team one when you think about everyone involved in the process. Since we see authors as more than just content providers, here's what we do for you.

On the publishing side we publish all romance novels in electronic format first. Novels over fifty thousand words, or collections of novellas meeting or exceeding that word count, will go into print once they reach a modest sales goal. We distribute to third party vendors, and we list those here under where else to find our books. Our print books are available thorough our website as well as through major retailers and able to be ordered by book stores, since we distribute through Ingrams. We do sell non-returnable paperbacks except where special arrangements have been made. We do send books to an extensive list of review sites, and we're adding more as we discover new sites. We also work to market your books and the company in a variety of ways including engaging with readers, our own blog, Facebook, Twitter, and reader's loop.

We believe we offer authors more than just what has been mentioned above. Here are a few more reasons to publish with Pink Petal Books :

  • We have a company intranet, where we provide information about marketing, branding, and websites from several sources. We also post articles from authors and staff on various topics relating to career and marketing, as well as other resources.
  • Our editors work closely with authors to produce the best final product possible, and are willing to listen if an author has a strong opinion about a requested change.
  • We're willing to work with authors to help them improve their craft. (We do ask that submissions come to us as polished as possible and encourage authors to use all resources available to them including critique groups. However, we're also not afraid to work with an author.)
  • We often ask for our authors to provide feedback and suggestions to improve the company as a whole.
  • We're willing to be flexible about policies if it means a new opportunity for promoting/marketing one book or the entire list.
  • We think outside the box to find new opportunities for marketing and selling their books.
  • We consider requests and suggestions from our authors, and we're open to discussion.
  • The owner and editors are easy to contact with any questions or concerns and make sure to respond as soon as they’re able.
  • Whether it's "out of the office for the day" notices or industry changes, authors are informed as soon as practical.
  • Our approach to publishing and to working with our authors is a team approach.

If you're ready to send us your manuscript, then read our submissions guidelines.
